The flight and the first impression (SAT 30/JAN)

The trip (01/29/2011 12:55)  was uneventful, despite of the cramped airplane seat and of the thirsty I had in the flying.  I slept almost every time. I woke only twice to eat. The first food was a salad with two bread, potatoes with fish, milk sweet with minas cheese.  The second looked like a breakfast, two biscuits, one thing looked like pizza, two kinds of breads and a fruit salad. These were much more that necessary. I returned almoste a full second.

We arrived in Lisbon about 2pm. I got out the plane, followed the crowd, stayed in a long queue and, when I was answered in the customshouse, the police asked me to go back through the long corridor.  I was with a small suitcase and a purse. I regretted about it. I walked a lot in that big airport with these in hands. Take light things in hands, comfortable purses and luggage with wheels , even small! I walked a lot with the weight on the hands.

I took some time to rest, bought something and tried to call for Brazil, to pay there. But unfortunately I couldn´t. Oh, the first strange thing... why I didn´t get successfull?
I returned and put my credit card, so, it worked!

The second flight got out a little bit late. In London I stayed in a long queue again... I was an empty mind, worried about nothing. All people in the queue looked like oriental people (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai? how know?). But, when I arrived in front of the queue some thoughts started... Will it be okay? The police asked only two simples questions, he gotten my digitals and dismissed me.

I walked straight to the output, but, nobody was waiting for me. I asked for help to a man that waiting for a student from the same school (British Study Centres) but of the another unit, Brighton. He called the school and in a few minutes a woman arrived, gave me instruction to we wait for a driver. During ours waiting somebody left the luggage near us. The woman, that said to be from Turkey, called the police and asked me to go to other chair, far from the luggage. Could be the bomb! The driver arrived almost 2 hours later and he still passed in another terminal to take another student.

While I was in airport the temperature was ok but, to going to the car, ow! It was freezing. I talked a little bit with the driver about London and about" british hand". He also are turkey. He said "the houses (buildings) are the same even though different" and advised me not to drive without get some driving lissons. I had the impression that I was not in the "capital "of the world but in a country town, with houses with gardens and wooden fences ... this is the look of most homes between Heathrow Airport and Streatam Hill.

I arrived in my new home after 10pm. I organized my things in my new bedroom, was presented to the house, the "children" and the house roles. The family is very sympathetic and the small house is very cozy. They let me confortable. The mother is Giovanna, the children is Sofia (18), Ivana (16) e Emílio (14). There is another english student in this home, Anja(16), from Switzerland. She is so friendly. In the home, we are invited to use only socks and to let the shoes in the entry.
