Food Party (27 APR)

The school "promoted" a food party today, at lunchtime. It provided the drinks (beers, refrigerants, etc) and  we (students) the tipical foods.

The party didn´t take a long time, but it was fun. I drunk a few beers and forgot to take photos of all food. I brought "cashew nut". Other Brazilian students brought brigadeiro

Edinburgh (22-25 APR)

The trip was great... I don´t konw why but it was what I needed, it was very relaxing. It invigorated me even the cold (very, very cold) weather - still.

By the way, the big bus wasn´t a big bus... it is smaller than one I used to go to Campo
Belo :( They say that "coach" is a big bus. Big? I can´t imagine the small one. It was around 22:30 and the drivers (I think three) were counting the passengers and putting them on each bus(three as well). I hadn´t changed the ticket and I asked one driver what could I do, while he was trying match the passagers on the buses. He nodded politely and continued doing the same, like "don´t worry". I went in the bus and nobody asked me about the ticket. I think, nobody asked anyone any ticket. So, the bus full, let´s go... but, it was 22:45 and the travel is 23:00. Don´t matter... the bus is full. Suddenly, in the middle of the trip the driver asked if anyone aren´t going directly to Edinburgh, he asked again and concluded that trip went directly. Imagine if someone was sleeping and could not hear the question. It was so strange again. I had bought the ticket to go directly... if someone didn´t go directly I would be very irritated  to take more time in the road.

The return was quite similar, a bit worse by the following fact. The bus was almost full  a quarter to the departure time, except to one chair, where there was a bag but nobody. The driver took the bag and put there a passager and went on... When the bus was leaving a girl asked to stop the bus but it continued. She had insisted a lot that the man in the bus station signed to the bus, after it had turned to take the right side and so it stopped and the girl got the baggage that was in the trunk. So crazy these facts.

About Edinburgh itself,is founded upon the volcanic crag shaped by 2 million years of glacial activity. It was considerated one the most beautyful city around the world, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is so interesting one big city, in the meddle of two day's bank holidays, could be so peaceful, calm.  I loved it.

I was hosted near the university, in a convention center where have a kind of student restaurant.  Everyone could go there. I went and was surprised. The food is cheaper, I have paid £4.5 to eat how much I wanted. It included all fruit (banana, kiwi, orange, etc, etc), drinks (hot chocolat, refrigerant,  juice, coofee, etc, etc). The food is very, very good, a lot of variety of meat and of everything.  But it couldn´t miss the fried potatoes, of course. Some people eating a health food, other not so.

Finally, it was nice!

Cassava with Picanha (10 ABR)

I was looking for a Brazilian Restaurante to taste some cassava, the GPS indicated
Casa da Sogra Brazilian Restaurant, but, in this place I found Spiritual Caipirinha Bar. I would like a boiled cassava but,  fried cassava is better than nothing. I could choose fried cassava with sun's beef  or with picanha, white rice, beans and crumbs. I ordered white picanha and white rice. I had hoped some cassava like in Brazil, cutting in cubes but, for my surprise, they were a big fried pieces... Hummm delicious! The Picanha tasted like has been washed...  It seemed to be without blood, even medium how I had asked. The white rice was ok and the beans, or better, the black beans was... hum, I prefere the Beth's beans (my cleaner). Anyway, I loved the fried cassava and I miss Brazil!

Camden Town Markets (10 APR)

Today I went in Camden Town Markets. It is like a mix of the "Belo Horizonte's Feira Hippie", but bigger, with part of the "Belo Horizonte's Central Market" with a part that no existent in Belo Horizonte. I walked a lot and ended up in a small Brazilian restaurant, to eat cassava with picanha... It was the one I wanted. But it is a great idea go back there to eat other kind of food. You find everything, fresh orange juice, brazilian churros, banana with chocolate, etc, etec

It was 20 degrees! (06 APR)

Today it was 20 degrees... It was amazing! Everybody were in a pub, OUTSIDE, around 5 p.m. hehehe

Strange Things (06 APR)

Today I found some a bit strange things here... boards on the walls of buildings with the information about famous people that used to live there, buildings with disabled windows, closed with bricks, parks whose entrance is permited only for functions, weeding photographers and keyholding and parks where you don´t have allowed to eat or drink there.

Do you realize it?

And, believe or not, the windows are closed with bricks in order to reduce taxes!

Madame Tussauds (05 APR)

This sightseeing was quick, took about one hour, but it was so interesting. I "almost" asked a wax person to take a photo of me and I "almost" took a photo of a real person. I don't know how is to be between famous, but I was able to simulate it in a "controled enviroment". When I thought I was in the exit way I found one "dark tunel"... It had taken no more that 5 minuts but, after it, I was completely tremulous. I had known it would happen. And again I thought the sightseeing had been finished when  I saw a "carousel", where the seats are London taxi miniatures. The carousel's path shows part of London's History. So, a quick and amazing sightseeing.

Ow, it is already April?
